It was my first big uni project and I helped out as a vfx artist and an onset supervisor. It was also my first time getting in touch with colorchecker, chromeball and an hdri camera. which was a big learning.

Scans
I took a rough scan of each actor using the gaussian splat capture method of luma ai. I wanted a solution where i could get fast feedback if the scan worked out. Lidar would also be an option, but i didn’t have a device capable of it.
Using these scans and a scan of the enviroment I could align everything and reconstruct the 3d scene for the simulation

I did the 3d in blender and compositing in nuke. Here you can see one of the first version compared to the final result.
